A FALL REMINDER FROM OVERLAND PARK

Residents and businesses are reminded each is responsible for removal of leaves in street gutters and on their property. A city ordinance prohibits anyone from raking or blowing leaves into or leaving leaves in a street gutter. Leaves left in a gutter clog downstream storm drains, causing standing water and a driving hazard.

Instead of bagging your leaves, consider mulching them with your mower. Lawn experts say this will benefit your yard in the future.

Oh, the city does not provide curbside leaf removal service but your residential trash provider will haul away bagged yard waste. Talk with your trash hauler for more information about any limits or restrictions.
