Trash Service

Changes coming for 2012

-- We've accepted a bid to stay with Town and Country Disposal for trash service.
-- All residents will receive a 48 gallon container for trash and a 35 gallon container for recycling from Town and Country by the end of 2011. You must use the provided containers or your trash/recycling will not be picked up.
-- If you have excess trash that will not fit in the provided container, you will to make arrangements with Town and Country directly for pickup.
-- Residents who need larger containers for trash or recycling should call Town and Country Disposal directly at 816-380-5595 and one will be provided at no charge.
-- Yard waste will still be picked up with the new contract and will be required to be in paper bags or bundled as it is now.

The Morningview Homes Association provides trash collection as part of the annual dues assessment.

-- Normal pickup day is on Thursday.
-- If you have any questions or problems with service you may contact Town and Country Disposal directly at 816-380-5595.
-- Trash will be picked up at the curb
-- There is no limit to the number of containers you may put out.
-- All trash, lawn waste and recyclable material should be placed outside before 6 A.M on Thursday or put it out the night before.
-- Tree limbs should be cut into lengths of 4 feet or less, and tied in bundles not to exceed 2 feet in diameter. Individual limbs must be less then 4 inched in diameter.
-- There are extra fees for special bulky item pick-ups. Contact Town and Country Disposal for details.
-- Trash will ALWAYS be picked up on Thursday every week even if a holiday falls on Thursday.
-- Under ordinary circumstances, rather than call a Board member about a missed pick up, please call the disposal service directly yourself (see telephone numbers on the first page). However, in the event that the problem has become a recurrent one, or is of an unusual nature (discourteous behavior, etc.) please contact us at once!

Bulky Trash Pick Up

From time to time Morningview may have a bulky trash pick up. Items such as couches, hot water heaters, and will be picked up. Cement and automobiles will not be picked up. For this pick up only all items must be placed at the curb. In addition the City of Overland Park may also provide both bulky trash pickup and hazardous waste disposal. Watch your mail for details.

Neighborhood Garage Sale

Once a year the Morningview Homes Association traditionally sponsors a neighborhood garage sale in the Summer.  On these days the Association places advertisements in the local newspapers, and provides signs to alert passerby's of the sales in the neighborhood.

Residents should post their own signs directing buyers to their sale.  Remember when looking for that perfect spot to advertise your sale please take that extra minute or two to politely request permission from the owner of the property before you erect your sign. Aside from the fact that it is the neighborly thing to do Overland Park ordinance requires it! Your signs should be functional, attractive, and structurally sound. Be sure to return to the scene and remove your sign when it has outlived its' usefulness.

Our Morningview Deed Restrictions place a maximum 2'x3' limit on the size of your sign. By Overland Park ordinance signs are not to be posted on any traffic control standards, telephone poles, electric light, power, or other utility poles.

Meeting Speakers

Morningview Homes Association holds general meetings four times a year.  At most meetings we invite a speaker in with a timely topic of interest.  It may be anyone from a master gardener to a tax accountant.  Watch your mailbox for the Morningview News that will announce our speakers.
